Passionate about helping people find joy for their journey, Josie Siler, a small-town Wisconsin girl, has big dreams. As a multi-award winning author and photographer, Josie shares God’s gifts of beauty, hope, and adventure with people who are overwhelmed by life’s circumstances, encouraging them to walk in the freedom and joy found in Jesus. Josie especially wants children to understand how much God loves them and that He is there for them not only in good times, but in hard times too. Josie’s publications include the compilation Breaking the Chains: Strategies for Overcoming Spiritual Bondage and numerous articles for web and magazine, including her work for Salem Web Network as a Contributing Writer. SWN is the parent company of numerous online publications and Josie’s articles have appeared on Crosswalk.comChristianity.com, and BibleStudyTools.com

As Vice President of Broken but Priceless Ministries, Josie encourages people living with chronic illness as well as those who care for them. She’s the editorial assistant and cover designer for Broken but Priceless: The Magazine, a quarterly online magazine that reaches people all over the world. She’s also the Dunn County Field Editor for Our Wisconsin Magazine. Josie has a degree in Intercultural Studies from Crown College.

She went on to get her Masters of Arts degree from Columbia Biblical Seminary. Josie went through the process of becoming an International Worker with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. As a consecrated official worker, she was preparing to minister in southeast Asia when chronic illness changed the trajectory of her life. A love of traveling and visiting other cultures has taken Josie to most states in the US and seven countries - more if you count airports!

She has found that no matter where she goes, there’s no place quite like home with her adorable little Teddy Bear dog, Ruby Mae (a.k.a. The Scruffy Princess). Josie enjoys adventures of all kinds, dark chocolate, practicing her skills at the range, and cheering on her Green Bay Packers - yes, she’s an owner! If she’s feeling exceptionally good, she might just take The Green Beast for a ride - her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

NEW RELEASE

Howie the donkey has a broken Hee-Haw and it makes him MAD! No matter how much he practices, he can’t get it right. When Jesus has need of his special gift, will he have the courage to use it? This new take on the story of Palm Sunday will delight children and adults alike. They will laugh through silly hee-haws, feel sad with Howie when he sees himself as a failure, and cheer him on as he helps Jesus make His way into Jerusalem. Children will learn that they aren’t broken either, but each unique in their own special way. They have great value because Jesus made them. Even though it’s a book about Palm Sunday, it’s a book that children will love all year as they relate to Howie’s story and look to him for encouragement when they are afraid or feel inferior.
